Arts education and media competence (KuBi Media)

Promoting children's and young people's media competence has become a cross-cutting task for society since the lifeworlds of adolescents nowadays are influenced by media. As a result of the increasing mediatisation of our society, media have become an indispensible element of artistic and cultural practice. Therefore, the Academy of Arts Education offers artists and cultural players interested the possibility to obtain (media) educational skills in the context of the new KuBiMedia further training concept, and following that, to be able to create programmes of cultural media education for children and young people – based on their own respective artistic perspective and approach.

Focus of further training:

Obtain (media) educational knowledge and explore media worlds, reflected and practical use of media, address topics of young people’s media worlds, plan and implement one’s own practical project, exchange and networking.

All artists and cultural players without a teaching degree who would like to offer practical media projects for children and young people are invited to join. Participants who have already had some experience may contribute this to the training. Parties interested who are already pursuing a project idea and need support for its specific implementation are welcome too. KuBiMedia pro-vides a framework for different individual approaches to and ideas for project design offering the expertise of competent speakers and a platform for exchange.
