Art through the ages: The current art scene features an enormous diversity of artistic practices. The challenge is to root contemporary techniques with new technologies and contextual debate about society in arts education. At the same time, traditional techniques need to be preserved or connected with contemporary practices. The individual and the direct environment, the public sphere with its community take centre stage and become the research laboratory and field of experiment for artistic interventions. Children and young people are confronted with an increasing flood of images that is produced in no time. Focusing on a playful and creative act invites them to decompress and to linger in artistic practice.
